Netherlands → Spain · individual vehicle assessment
Assess a car from the Netherlands for Spain before you buy.
Already found a car in the Netherlands? Autohaus Zephyr can help organise the checks, clarify the possible scope and plan the next steps towards Spain. Availability of local support, transport and other services depends on the vehicle, its documents and the partners available for that case. Do not buy or reserve on the assumption that an inspection, approval or registration outcome is guaranteed.
- Initial review of a specific vehicle and its documents
- Export and transport route confirmed case by case
- The buyer pays the identified seller directly

What this vehicle assessment covers
We start with a specific car, not a promise of availability across the Dutch market. We review the information you provide and identify outstanding questions about the advert, specification, seller, price and documents. The Netherlands may be a possible route when suitable local availability exists; Germany is our main sourcing route. Belgium and the Netherlands depend on the individual car, its documents and local availability at the time of enquiry.
The initial consultation and initial search proposal are free. They do not include a physical inspection, a full vehicle audit, a reservation or automatic coordination of transport or paperwork. If you want an inspection or other services, we will set out the scope, price and any conditions separately before you accept. Service from our Zurich base does not mean that we have offices in Spain.

What we need and what you receive before proceeding
Send the listing link or vehicle details, make, model, specification, VIN if available, stated mileage, price and location. Include your intended total budget, approximate destination province and address, preferred timing if any, and any essential requirements. Add photos and documents already available, along with the seller’s answers about history, damage, maintenance and what the price includes.
Based on this information, we can provide an initial written assessment: what information was received, what needs confirmation, which assistance may be available and which services or costs need a separate quote. The proposal does not certify the car’s condition or replace checks by the parties responsible for verifying documents. If essential information is missing or a service cannot be coordinated, we will tell you before you commit.
- The seller’s identity and contact details, and who will be named as seller on the contract or invoice.
- Written price and terms, VIN and available documents; do not send sensitive payment details.
- Destination in Spain and preferences for transport, collection and timing.

Confirm export, documents and payment
The RDW publishes information on exporting vehicles from the Netherlands. Check its procedure and confirm for this car who will handle deregistration or export, which documents will be handed over and the vehicle’s status during transport. Do not assume that the plates shown in an advert, temporary plates or insurance allow the car to be driven to Spain. Compare that option with arranged transport and confirm in writing who is responsible for each step.
Before any reservation, the parties must check the seller’s legal identity and the exact payment beneficiary, and verify that they match the documents and independently confirmed payment instructions. Agree in writing on the price, taxes included or excluded, reservation and refund terms, timing and delivery scope. The buyer purchases and pays for the car directly to the identified seller. Autohaus Zephyr does not receive the vehicle purchase price or guarantee the seller.
- Request a contract or invoice, vehicle identification by VIN and available registration documents.
- Confirm what export or deregistration evidence will be provided, who handles it, and which plates and insurance, if applicable, cover the agreed journey.
- Request available maintenance history and conformity documents; verify authenticity, ownership and consistency with the car.

Verify Spanish requirements and the total cost
Before buying, the seller and buyer must verify which exact documents and requirements apply to that vehicle and its tax and technical circumstances. Points to check with the relevant authorities or professionals include the invoice or contract, proof of ownership, Dutch registration and export documents, the tax treatment of the sale, technical data and any available certificate of conformity. They must also confirm which technical inspection, documents, taxes, fees and registration steps will be required in Spain for that vehicle.
We do not assume that a particular certificate, plate, tax classification or document is sufficient to complete the process. Requirements may depend on the vehicle, paperwork and transaction circumstances; we do not invent rates or predict approval. Before comparing options, ask for the purchase price, transport, contracted services and costs still to be confirmed by third parties to be itemised in writing. No estimate guarantees the final cost, document acceptance or registration.

Next step: send the listing and decide with a clear scope
Send the listing link, approximate destination and total budget to receive an initial consultation and, where appropriate, a free initial search proposal. If you want a physical inspection or additional coordination, we will first confirm availability and send a separate quote stating tasks, exclusions and costs. That work starts only after your express acceptance; a conversation or proposal does not reserve the car or commit you to a service.
Any inspection provided, if agreed, is limited to the points and methods set out in its quote. It cannot guarantee detection of every defect and does not replace an independent assessment, a complete test drive or relevant technical, legal and tax advice. Nor do we guarantee stock, savings, condition, transport, timing, document approval, compliance or insurance cover. The practical next step is to ask the seller for outstanding details and documents, then share them so we can assess whether this vehicle is worth pursuing.
Free initial enquiry
Start with the car you need.
Tell us your priorities, total budget and destination in Spain. Send an advert if you already have one. We will assess the initial fit and explain what information is still needed.
The enquiry does not reserve a vehicle or book a paid service. Inspection, transport and coordination are quoted separately.

What does it cost to get started?
The consultation and initial search proposal are free. A physical inspection and later services are quoted separately according to the vehicle, its location, availability and agreed scope. You receive the quote before accepting.
Who do I pay for the car?
You purchase and pay for the vehicle directly to the identified seller. The seller and payment beneficiary must be identified and verified before any reservation or payment. Autohaus Zephyr fees and third-party services are itemised separately.
Do Holland and the Netherlands mean the same market here?
In common usage, “Holland” is often used to mean the Netherlands. This page covers that route without duplicating the service on another page.
Can you guarantee the inspection or registration in Spain?
No. Inspection availability and scope are confirmed and quoted separately, and no inspection can guarantee detection of every defect. The relevant authorities determine requirements and whether documents or registration are approved.
