Import a car from Germany to Madrid with a clear plan

To make the search useful, tell us whether you will mainly use the car in Madrid city, another municipality in the region, or on longer road journeys. Also share your usual routes, approximate total budget, preferred body style, fuel type, transmission and space requirements. For journeys in Madrid city, check the current Madrid ZBE and special protection zone rules that apply to your specific routes. Do not assume that a label shown in a foreign advertisement determines access: check the vehicle's technical data and the applicable rules against official information.

Delivery needs practical planning, not just a postcode. Provide the municipality, postcode and, if known, the address or an alternative unloading point. Can a transporter reach it? Are there time restrictions, narrow streets, garage access limits or little room to unload? Also tell us who will receive the car. The feasibility and transport price for the delivery point are confirmed before contracting; we do not assume every address is accessible.

Germany is our main sourcing route. Based on your criteria, we can prepare an initial proposal defining the type of vehicle sought, filters, sources or candidate listings currently available, and questions still to ask the seller. This initial proposal does not reserve a car, confirm that a listing is still available or guarantee that we will find a suitable vehicle. Stock, published information and seller availability can change without notice.

Belgium and the Netherlands are considered only as alternative routes when the specific vehicle, documents and local availability make the case workable. This does not guarantee access to stock or imply the same service scope. Switzerland is outside the European Union: a purchase or transfer from Switzerland requires separate checks of applicable customs, tax and document obligations and must not be treated as an intra-EU transaction. Before broadening a search, we agree which route will be considered and what information is missing.

To compare an imported option with Spanish listings, collect references for similar versions, model years, mileage and condition. Compare a total cost that includes the vehicle, transport, formalities and services you actually commission. We do not promise savings: the decision depends on the final price, specification, applicable taxes and costs, and the vehicle's verifiable condition.

Before making a commitment, obtain the seller's identity and confirm who will receive any payment. Check that the beneficiary's name matches the seller, or that there is an acceptable documentary explanation, before reserving or paying. Check the vehicle VIN against the available documents. Request a sale contract or invoice identifying the seller, buyer, VIN, price and terms; the German registration documents, including the Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I and Teil II where applicable; and the Certificate of Conformity (CoC), if available. Also check the declared mileage, available history, number of keys and any reported damage or encumbrance.

The seller, buyer and their advisers must confirm which original documents and supporting evidence are needed for the particular case, including deregistration or export, transport, registration, technical inspection and registration in Spain. Before purchase, check with the competent authorities and an ITV inspection station which technical data or vehicle documents, approval or CoC, translations and checks may be required for that specific car. Confirm the applicable tax treatment, declarations, taxes and supporting evidence with the Spanish Tax Agency or a tax adviser, taking account of the vehicle, seller, invoice and buyer's circumstances. We do not assume a universal rate, exemption, approval or document list.

A physical inspection is a separate service, quoted according to location, access, vehicle and agreed scope. Before accepting, you receive a written outline of the checks, photographs or report offered and what is excluded. An inspection has limits: it cannot guarantee that every defect will be detected, the vehicle's future condition, the accuracy of third-party information, or approval by an ITV station or authority. If an item cannot be checked, that will be noted where possible.

The buyer enters into the sale and pays the vehicle price directly to the identified seller. Do not send a deposit or vehicle payment to a third party without first verifying the seller's identity, the payment beneficiary and the payment terms. Later services, such as logistics coordination or document support, are quoted separately and provided only if agreed.
