Purchase assistance · Germany to Spain
Plan your German car purchase for delivery to Spain
Found a vehicle you are considering? Autohaus Zephyr can help organize questions for the seller, review the information available and define next steps. We work from Zurich; we do not have offices in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia. You buy and pay for the vehicle directly to the identified seller. The initial consultation and initial search proposal are free; a physical inspection and later services are quoted separately.
- Seller and payment beneficiary identified before any reservation or payment
- Service scope, responsibilities and costs kept separate from the car price
- Document review and coordination subject to availability and an accepted quote

What assistance you can arrange for this vehicle
This page is for buyers who already have a German candidate and want to clarify the transaction before committing. Depending on your needs, we can help prepare specific questions, request missing information, organize the documents received and coordinate services that have been quoted and accepted. Before any paid work starts, you will receive its scope, price, responsibilities and deliverables in writing.
The initial consultation and an initial search proposal are free. They do not include a physical inspection, technical audit, certified translations, tax or legal advice, registration procedures or transport. If any of these services are available for your case, they are quoted separately and the provider is identified. We are not the vehicle seller, a customs authority, a guarantor or an insurer; nor do we claim that every procedure is included in our assistance.
- Possible agreed deliverables: a question list, a summary of supplied information and a record of outstanding points.
- A physical inspection or any later service requires its own quote and acceptance.

Information and documents to provide
To get started, send us the listing or link, make, model, year, stated mileage, VIN or chassis number, location, price and your priorities. Tell us whether you have already spoken with the seller, whether an offer or reservation exists, what has been paid and what decision you need to make. Do not share sensitive payment details that are not needed for the consultation.
Ask the seller, as applicable, for proof of identity and authority to sell; a draft sale agreement or offer identifying the parties, VIN, price, included items, reservation and cancellation terms; German registration documents, particularly Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I and Teil II; a European Certificate of Conformity (CoC), if available; technical inspection reports, service history, invoices and information on damage or repairs. Also confirm who holds each original and which documents will be handed to the buyer.
This list does not by itself establish what the authorities require for your vehicle. Before purchase, the parties must confirm with the relevant authorities or a qualified professional which original documents, translations, tax evidence and technical requirements apply to that VIN, category, age, configuration and individual circumstances. They should also check whether approval, an ITV inspection, technical documentation or other steps are required for Spanish registration. Do not assume that a CoC, report or single document settles every requirement.

Identity, contract and payment: no shortcuts
Before reserving or sending money, identify the contractual seller and the beneficiary of every payment. Check that the account holder’s name matches the person or entity selling the vehicle, or request a verifiable explanation of any difference. If a representative is involved, ask for evidence of their authority and confirm who signs and who receives the funds. If the identity, VIN, contract or bank details do not match, pause payment until the issue is clarified in writing.
The contract or reservation document should identify the specific vehicle, price and currency, taxes included or outstanding as confirmed by the seller, reservation amount and nature, refund or retention conditions, delivery date or conditions, and documents included. Do not treat a call or informal message as binding when a point is decisive. The buyer purchases and pays for the car directly to the identified seller; Autohaus Zephyr fees and third-party services are charged separately under their respective quotes.
We cannot promise that the seller will hold the vehicle, that a reservation is refundable, or that the car is free of liens or defects simply because documents have been reviewed. Any agreed verification has a defined scope and does not replace legal advice, official checks or a mechanical inspection.

Documents, requirements and logistics to Spain
Germany is our main sourcing route. To bring a vehicle to Spain, the buyer, seller and contracted professionals must agree who arranges collection, transport or road use, which plates and insurance may be needed for the chosen route, who keeps the originals and where the vehicle is handed over. Transport, insurance, plates, taxes and procedures are not assumed to be included; where relevant, they are identified and quoted separately.
Before completing the purchase, confirm with the relevant Spanish and German authorities, or a qualified registration professional, the requirements for the specific vehicle: ownership and registration records, purchase and payment evidence, tax status, any taxes or declarations, technical specifications, inspection, approval and registration. The answer may depend on the vehicle, its history, classification, equipment and the buyer’s circumstances. We do not invent tax rates or claim guaranteed approval or coverage.
Belgium and the Netherlands may be considered only if the vehicle, its documents and local availability make that route workable; they are not automatic alternatives and do not imply specific regional expertise. Dates, service availability, vehicle condition, administrative acceptance and final costs must be confirmed for each transaction. We do not guarantee savings, stock, approval, timing, inspection completeness or insurance coverage.

What to send now and what happens next
Send us the listing, VIN if available, location, price, documents already in hand and a short list of questions. Include your destination in Spain, how you expect to collect or transport the vehicle, and any dates you have in mind, making clear whether a date is a preference rather than a confirmed commitment. If a reservation already exists, explain its amount, beneficiary and written terms before making another payment.
We will review the initial information and tell you whether we can propose a scope for the case. The initial consultation and initial search proposal are free. If you request a physical inspection or other work, you will receive a separate quote stating tasks, limits, cost and responsible provider; work proceeds only after you accept the terms. If essential information is missing or the vehicle is not a fit, you can request it from the seller or continue with another candidate.
Speaking with us or receiving a proposal does not reserve the vehicle. Do not pay a reservation until you have identified the seller and beneficiary and confirmed the relevant terms in writing. Once the contracted scope is accepted and each party’s responsibilities are clear, we coordinate only the agreed tasks.
Free initial enquiry

The enquiry does not reserve a vehicle or book a paid service. Inspection, transport and coordination are quoted separately.

Who do I pay for the car?
You buy and pay for the vehicle directly to the identified seller. Before reserving or paying, confirm who is selling, who receives the money and that the terms are in writing. Autohaus Zephyr fees and third-party services are quoted separately.
How much does the assistance cost?
The initial consultation and initial search proposal are free. A physical inspection and later services are quoted separately according to the vehicle, its location and the requested work. You will know the scope and cost before accepting.
What documents do I need to register the car in Spain?
It depends on the vehicle and its circumstances. Gather the German registration documents, proof of purchase and available technical documents, such as the CoC if available. Confirm the applicable originals, tax, technical, inspection and registration requirements for that vehicle with the relevant authorities or a qualified professional.
How long will it take, and can you inspect the car?
There is no universal timeframe: availability, the seller, documents, transport and procedures all affect timing. We can assess a physical inspection separately and quote its scope and price before you accept. No timing, result or coverage is guaranteed.
